Natural Heritages of Hangzhou
杭州依山傍水，山水资源十分丰富。紧邻杭州湾，著名的京杭大运河与钱塘江穿城而过，老城区130多条溪河纵横交错，堪称东方威尼斯。有2个国家级名胜区--西湖风景名胜区、"两江一湖"（富春江、新安江、千岛湖）风景名胜区；2个国家自然保护区--天目山、清凉峰自然保护区；5个国家森林公园--千岛湖、大奇山、午潮山、富春江、河青山湖森林公园。
Hangzhou enjoys abundant natural resources from water and hills.
Lying by Hangzhou Bay and crossed by the Grand Canal and the Qiantang
River, plus more than 130 streams and little rivers in the urban area,
Hangzhou is an eastern counterpart of Venice. There are two national
resorts - the West Lake Scenery Resort, "Two Rivers and One Lake"
(Fuchun River, Xin'an River and the Thousand Islet Lake) Resort, two
national natural protective areas - Tianmu Mountain and Qingliang
Peak, and five national forest parks - the Thousand Islet Lake, Daqi
Mountain, Wuchao Mountain, Fuchun River and Heqing Mountain.

The West Lake, reputed as the Pearl of China, is among Top Ten Resorts
in China. The old and new Ten Best Scenery Spots are mergers of beautiful
landscape and historical sites. The newly reconstructed South Route
of the West Lake forms an elegant and well-equipped new lakeside,
showing tourists more clear that the city is surrounded by misty hills
all but one side. The Westward Re-construction of the West Lake will
protect the environment while opening an ecological swamp area and
adding a new highlight to tourist resorts in Hangzhou.
