What the citizens care most now is the issue of price rising. How to make an all out effort of CPC Hangzhou Committee and Hangzhou Government to draw back climbing prices to the largest possible extent and guarantee that the life quality of residents in Hangzhou are not going down due to price rising? 5 municipal representatives of CPC from grass-root level were invited once more to the 39th session of the Conference of the Standing Committee of CPC Hangzhou Committee to discuss this important issue closely related to the immediate interest of Hangzhou citizens together with members of the Standing Committee of CPC Hangzhou Committee including Wang Guoping, Cai Qi, Ye Ming, Wang Jincai, etc.

The general price level of our city has been rising quickly since May of last year. The accumulated general level of resident consumption price from Jan. to May had increased by 6.9% in our city compared with the same period of last year, 0.7% lower than the provincial level, ranked as No. 6 throughout the province; 1.4% lower than the national level, and was placed No. 29 among all the 36 large and middle cities of our country. Measures such as expanding "Spring Wind Action" to suburban areas and strengthening the subsidy degree on price and so on have been conducted by CPC Hangzhou Committee and Hangzhou Government since the beginning of this year to reduce negative influences upon citizens' lives due to price rising, leaving no stone unturned. But the current situation keeps indicating that the pressure of price rising in Hangzhou, as well as in the whole country, is still quite huge.
