A lovely monkey sitting on the fully-bloomed Lily throne with a Gold Rod on his shoulder, this is the mascot for the third China International Cartoon Festival revealed yesterday. The monkey, originated from the prototype of Sun Wukong, the monkey king, was specially designed by Han Linmei, a great master of Chinese arts and crafts and one of the designers for the five Fuwa, the mascots for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Interesting enough, as there is still no formal name for the lovely monkey, the executive committee also made a public acquisition of name for the mascot on the news conference held yesterday.
